Thanks to Jim Uzzel who recommended some changes, plus a new program (which was a darn good idea, and easy). The programs should run on just about any platform that has an ANSI C compiler and a command line. I've tested on DOS (WinNT) and Linux. Both programs take a PC99 ".dsk" file or a v9t9 file (I'm not real conversant in v9t9, is this a DOAD? With a ".dsk" extension? Is just a dump of the sectors on a TI disk?) and convert to either a set of TIFILES-encoded files or a single ARC303-compatible uncompressed archive. Either form may be transferred to a REAL TI via PC-Transfer or XMODEM over a serial link; I've tested both methods and they work fine. The TIFILES-encoded files have to be transferred individually, but they are ready for use once there. The ARC303 file has to be unarced after it is transferred. A readme.txt file is included that documents the usage of the programs and their options. Options for generating a listing of the TI files in a ".dsk" are included, which may ease the construction of a "shell" program to make the basic unix-like programs more user-friendly. I don't think I will do this myself, as I'm out of time and patience, and what I have works for what I need. Finally, I can unpack those Plato files from the Cyc CDROM! DAVID L.
