Club 100 Library - 415/939-1246 BBS 937-5039 NEWSLETTER, 932-8856 VOICE ************************************** Prog 'A-DUEL.BA' =============== Intro & instructions by S.Kendall See end memo end for game instructions. Was written by JOHN PERKINS of Cary, IL. It was first written on the 'BALLY ARCADE' in 'Tiny Basic' in 1.2K in color. Later it was produced in a cartridge for the 'ASTROCADE' with four colors, lots of action, music and sound AND with little walking and climbing soliders. In 1982 it was written for the Model 100 and never submitted to a Users Group or a Bulletin Board. It is one of the best games I've had the pleasure of playing. It was also very popular on the Astrocade. John gave me a print/out of this version and I hand-loaded it into my M-100. There is a minor glitch that appears on the screen at the foot of the gun. John wrote code in a very tight, very compact style often with 200+ bytes per line. The 'glitch' is due to my entry - not the program. Neither John nor I had disk drives at the time. This prog is Copywrited but also PD. I think it is a great game and I'll send the original listing to anyone sending me a SASE. Have fun. S.Kendall 6/87 ********** GAME INSTRUCTIONS *********** The game starts by drawing mountains, bushes and two guns and then shoots one of the guns. At the top of the screen are Powder, Gun Angle & Wind Direction, which change with each shot. The powder or gun angle is changed up or down with the up/down arrow keys. The small cursor is placed next to the Powder/Angle with the right/left arrow keys. The gun is fired with the key. The shell reacts to the Powder Charge, Gun Angle and Wind Direction and speed. The wind changes each round. A 'hole' is dug by each shell. The Powder/Angle is different in each game to make play more interesting. Be sure to account for the wind speed on each shot. The computer keeps score. GOOD-LUCK!!!!
